Another year of significant Improvement in GCSE Outcomes results among excellent success stories for the class of 2026    

After two years of hard work and studying, students at the academy, have shared their joy in taking home the well-deserved results. These results reflect not only academic success but the rising momentum across the school, where aspiration, ambition and values are shaping a bright and exciting future for every student.  

There is an absence of national progress data in 2025 and 2026, due to this cohort of students not sitting KS2 sats when their education was disrupted by covid.  However, the academy has seen significant year on year improvements on our 2024 results in almost every metric.  Across 2025 and 2026 exam cohorts, the Attainment 8 score (average grade) has improved by 6.1 – this means that on average every student in every subject has improved by 2/3rds of a grade, equating to a total improvement of 756 grades across the 2 year groups. The number of students achieving a grade 5 and above in both English and Maths has risen by 12% since 2024.

 This year’s achievements come at a time of rapid growth and transformation at the academy. With a united leadership team across both Ormiston Flegg High Academy and Ormiston Venture Academy, the academy is moving forward with a bold vision, ensuring students benefit from world-class teaching, a shared culture of excellence and expanded opportunities for leadership and enrichment. 

 At Flegg High, all students are encouraged to achieve their very best academically, socially, and personally through an ambitious and inclusive curriculum alongside a wide range of enrichment and extracurricular opportunities. The partnership between the two Ormiston schools is already delivering impact – combining strengths, resources and a shared belief that every child deserves the very best.  

 As Flegg continues its upward trajectory, these results are not only a reflection of student achievement now, but a powerful indication of the future to come.

Whether that is sixth form, college, apprenticeships, employment or prestigious scholarship programmes, they leave Flegg with the confidence, knowledge and ambition to make a positive difference in the world.

While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:  

Jacob who achieved grade 9s in mathematics, further mathematics, computer science, geography, biology, chemistry and physics, alongside grade 8s in English language, English literature and French. His academic success follows another significant achievement, having been selected as the proud recipient of the Ormiston Academies Trust Scholarship to Oundle School. Jacob’s outstanding results and scholarship reflect his academic ability and the commitment he has shown throughout his time at Flegg High Ormiston Academy. Alongside his studies, he served as head boy and was chief engineer in the Flegg F1 in schools team, who made it all the way to the national finals.

Arden who received grade 9s in computer science, English language, history and combined science. They also achieved grade 8s in English literature, mathematics and religious education, alongside a grade 7 in art. Arden’s achievements have earned them a scholarship to continue their studies at Wellington College to study English literature, ancient history, history and philosophy – an exciting opportunity and fitting recognition of their academic success.

Hannah who secured grade 9s in English language, English literature, biology and chemistry. She also received grade 8s in art, history, physics and Spanish, alongside a grade 7 in mathematics. Her results demonstrate remarkable academic strength across a wide range of subjects and are a fantastic reflection of the hard work and commitment she has shown throughout her time at Flegg High Ormiston Academy. The school wishes her luck in her future studies at East Norfolk Sixth Form College, where she will be studying chemistry, biology, psychology and sociology.
